Local primary schools support Cupar foodbank

Ceres Primary School recently held a “dress down day” at school. This time, instead of bringing money to distribute to charity, the pupils were encouraged to bring in an item for the foodbank. The total weight of food presented was 97.55kg.

On Thursday 4th of April Joe Preece the Centre manager, visited teacher Mrs Milne and the pupils of Class P5 Castlehill Primary School to collect donations. Class P5 in known as the Charities Group and assists local groups and charities. One of the children had suggested that they bring in food for the foodbank. This was duly done and a total of 33.65kg of food was donated by the class.

Latter on in the day children from St Columbus RC Primary School and their teacher Mrs Janvier arrived at the foodbank with a delivery of 69 Easter eggs and 14 chocolate rabbits collected by the pupils. The group were then given a tour of the foodbank by the centre manager who explained how the foodbank worked.

The sincere thanks of all the trusties and volunteers from the foodbank go to all children, teachers and parents for their support.
