Our sincere thanks to the local community for their kindness and generosity during Christmas 2016

25th January 2017

Cupar Foodbank would like to say a big thank you to the many individuals, schools, churches, businesses and organisations who helped make Christmas that extra bit special. We are still in the process of collating our figures but we do know that during Christmas week your support helped us provide 2400 meals to 200 people of which at least 100 were children. Each family received a normal emergency food parcel of 3 days worth of food plus fresh food for Christmas and a selection of Christmas treats and a small gift for the kids and mum/dad.
We referred families to the toy drive who hadn’t already been referred and we also referred some people to join in the community Christmas day lunch at Age Concern.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas we were confident that we could meet the demand for Christmas Hampers but were concerned that the New Year might see us short of stock. However we were delighted by the generosity of our supporters and we can now start the New Year knowing that
we have enough food to meet the increasing demand for emergency food parcels.
I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of the families that you have helped to support. The feedback from volunteers delivering Christmas Hampers is always very touching, as the families are so touched by your kindness and generosity.
Thank you once again and best wishes for 2017.
